LizBeth Ogiela-Scheck, Artist
I’m LizBeth Ogiela-Scheck. As an artist, I primarily create artwork in ink, oil, and acrylic that reflect my visions of the internal world interacting with the external. That being said, it is the creative idea that actually guides me to the decisions of materials & mediums to use. It would not be unusual for me to be venturing into sculpture. “My paintings are meant to be felt with the eyes, seen with the heart, and touched by the soul.” These paintings often are contemplations on nature and dream reflections interpreted through vibrant, high contrasting, colors and organic shapes in order to evoke a reaction and dialog.Welcome to WordPress. My first memories are of me drawing on the walls growing up in a large Chicago-Polish family. However, formal art education would only start in HS. After which I moved to Central IL to attend attend Illinois State University and received a BS in Education, majoring in Jr High/ MS Education with specializations in Fine Art, Science, and Social Studies. After teaching school & working in the youth development field, fitting art in wherever I could, I had refocused my attentions to the fine arts locally and exhibiting my art in shows through the midwest. My work is in private collections in the United States. I know reside in New Mexico where I continue to work in my home studio and looking forward to participating with the creative community of the southwest.
